In Room 16 we have been learning about Colonisation and what it means. Colonisation means another country travels to another country and gets some land or tells them to sign a treaty. We all wrote down in our topic books why did people travel to other lands? And how did people acquire land when they got there. I wrote down people traveled to other lands because they wanted to trade, share, fight, battle and steal. People acquired land by signing a treaty, by killing and trading.

Hi Olivia,
I can tell you are developing a really good understanding of colonisation. What was the relationship like between the colonisers and the people who already live there??
Ruth
Hi Olivia,
Nice blog it tells you about what we are learning about and it tells you what colonisation means. What was your favourite part of learning about colonisation?

Hi Olivia,
I like your picture it is very detailed. But I think you should have said about the 4 island's and the war and the treaty apart from that it is great.

@Ruth: The relationship between the colonisers (the Smarleys) and chocolate money land was negative because the Smarleys wanted some land but chocolate money land didn't give the colonisers some land. The smarleys traveled to chocolate money land because they wanted more fertile land because there island is small and mainly all desert.
@Amy: My favourite part of learning about colonisation was traveling to chocolate money land because we had a big conversation about trading and I was ready to load up our guns,And chocolate money land just wanted the smarleys to leave them in peace

Hi Olivia,
I really enjoyed reading your work and also about how you explained what you wrote down in your writing book.I also like the picture that you drew and put some different types of back ground(the sea)instead of just putting a plain old colour blue dumped in the middle.I also have a question for you,are you happy of what your chief has done with your island to chocolate money land?
